Olivetti 32 portable (RIP)
Boyle was given an Olivetti by his mother as an adolescent when he decided to become a writer, and he used the machine for all his novels and numerous stories until he switches to the computer “with no problem” in the mid-90s. Boyle studied at the University of Iowa and published his first novel, Water Music, in 1982. In 1987 he won the PEN/Faulkner award for his novel World’s End. |
