The Special models are desirable among collectors for their combination of historical importance and attractive colors. Noticeable improvements of the Special model include a wider keyboard and a longer platen. They are relatively more rare than the standard No. 3 because fewer models were made. The Specials were soon replaced by the better-designed No.4 model with standard keyboard.
