Corona Standard/Clipper of 1940s
Item Number: CO-P010
A classic workhorse. Replacing the early Corona line of 1930s that included the Standard, Sterling and Silent, the new model sports a streamlined design billed as Speedline in a matte finish (to reduce the glares from a traditional glossy finish). The Standard model, later became Clipper, remained tremendously popular was produced all the way into the 1950s under the company's new name, Smith-Corona. The Standard model lacked some of the bells and whistles of its sibling Sterling/Silent models; however, this machine outsold other more expensive models and offered the best value for the money.
