Strike up the frontstrike! Though Remington had enjoyed very respectable commercial success with its previous upstrike models, the company finally responded to market pressure to produce a "visible" or frontstrike machine in 1908. The result was the Remington 10. Now typists could see their work as it appeared on the paper, without having to stop and swing the carriage upward as was necessary with the upstrike machines. The Remington 10 has a very open design, so users can see its workings as they type along: the type bars arranged in the U-shaped frontstrike patterns as well as the machines sides, are uncovered. With a four-row keyboard and snazzy lettering and emblem over a shiny black finish, the attractive #10 became another Remington bestseller.
A typewriter of extra heavy construction. Superb for adaptability, dependability and durability. Has backspacer, self-starting tabulator, two-color ribbon, automatic ribbon reverse, variable platen release, etc. Writes 84 characters, with the entire writing line always visible.
